The Alaska Basic Economic Development Course offers education in comprehensive economic and community development, tailored to the unique opportunities and challenges of Alaska.

Who should attend?

This course has been designed for economic development practitioners from all sectors of the economy – public, private, or nonprofit. The course is also appropriate for experienced professionals looking to adapt their skills to Alaska, economic development volunteers, and people working in cross-over fields such as transportation, utilities, real estate, finance, telecommunications, and native corporations.

Registration

The registration fee for this four-day course is $600 per person. This includes all instructional and course materials, and lunch on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Refunds will not be available for cancellations made after September 26, two weeks prior to the course.

Accredited Course

The Alaska BEDC is accredited by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), making it equivalent to IEDC’s Introduction to Economic Development Course and eligible for the requirements of the IEDC Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) exam.

To qualify for IEDC credit hours, you must attend all four days of the course.
